The harvest 2007
The 2007 vintage may the one of the extremes: we experienced stressful weather last summer, an extremely long vegetative cycle started very early in April and finished very late (with the harvest of the cabernets-sauvignons mid-October), a historic Indian summer in Bordeaux - September will remain the sunniest for the past 60 years. It is the year of white wines, it is a chance for us who produce three white wines all harvested by hand, vinified and raised in French oak barrels:
Château Loudenne AOC Bordeaux blanc : it is a fruity, scented and aromatic wine. It combines the power and the consistency of Sémillon to the freshness of Sauvignon.
Château de Rouillac AOC Pessac-Léognan blanc : Produced from one hectare and half of vines cultivated like a garden, this round and harmonious wine is dominated by floral flavours and citrus fruits.
Château de l’Hospital AOC Graves blanc : Prototype of a good wine from the Graves, it reveals an elegant bouquet with the exotic fruit flavours, a full mouth and a sharp and mineral final with toasted flavours.
2007 is also a year of traditional Bordeaux wines: the length of the vegetative cycle gently led the grape to maturity; we may predict a wine with an extreme elegance and a splendid complexity. Before tasting the 2007 vintage, we invite you to taste more traditional vintage such as 2002 and 2004.
Again this year we had the pleasure at Château Loudenne to share the effervescence of the key stages to produce a wine, especially during the harvest. You were many to take part in the “Workshops of Les Médocaines”, a successful partnership with three other women wine growers of the Medoc. They created workshops to discover the wine: a convivial, festive, cultural product, between passionate people. So check out your calendar! http://www.lesmedocaines.com
