Château de Rouillac 2002 Red
Dark-coloured, very nice appearance, with bright red reflections. Fruity nose evocative of gooseberry and blackcurrant, with smoky notes. In the mouth it is full, consistent, and is characterised by a certain richness and freshness, which brings out persistent ripe fruit notes wonderfully. 87/100

Château de Rouillac 2002 Red
The Lafragrette family owns three great properties in the Bordeaux region – Loudenne in the Médoc, L’Hospital in Graves, and Rouillac in Pessac-Léognan. The latter not only has magnificent mansion, it also comes with significant vineyards in the Canéjan locality – almost at the western border of the appellation area and on the edge of the Landes forest – that are mainly planted with red grapes. This wine was still completely unknown in wine circles just two years ago, but has now got some recognition due to its dynamic new owners, who are represented by their daughter, Florence. Significant investment has been made in the wine here. The results are clear to see in the latest vintages – the 2002 is high-spirited, loquacious, fairly slender and fresh, which is to be drunk fairly young due to its softened tannins.

Château de Rouillac 2001 Red
Concentrated ripe fruit; very well-balanced in the mouth between velvety tannins, a solid structure and lasting acidity. Excellent overall.
